Driving tips

  • Brake in a straight line, then turn in. Braking while turning hard makes the rear slide.
  • Downforce grows with speed: fast corners hold more g than slow ones.
  • Grass and gravel kill your speed. Hitting a barrier hard causes damage, and enough damage puts you out.
  • Wheels beyond the white line count as track limits: in qualifying the lap is deleted, in the race 3 warnings then 5 s penalties.
  • Drive into the pit lane (right side of the main straight) for new tyres and repairs. Press T to pick the compound first.
  • Softs (red) are ~0.4 s a lap quicker but wear faster than mediums (yellow). Worn tyres lose grip, and past the cliff they fall away fast. Races of 5+ laps must use both compounds.
  • The track gets faster as rubber goes down: the best qualifying laps come at the end of each session.
