SIR: Door to Door guide: how to be a good BLO in ten minutes
To score well in SIR: Door to Door, accept the chai, ask who lives in the house and where each missing elector is, look at every twinkling clue, pin facts that disagree, and check the app before deleting anyone. Working away is not shifted, a spelling mistake is a Form 8, and wrongly cutting a real voter costs the most.
What is SIR: Door to Door?
SIR: Door to Door is a free 3D mystery game about the Special Intensive Revision of India's voter rolls. You are the Booth Level Officer of Kesharpur, a made-up village. Ten houses, ten minutes: knock, go in, sit down, ask questions, check the papers and decide who stays on the roll. There are 100 hand-written cases.
The decisions
| Decision | When |
|---|---|
| Form collected | The elector lives here. Family can sign for someone away for work, the army, studies or treatment. |
| Dead | The elector has died. A certificate helps but isn't required: the register, the family and the neighbours count. |
| Shifted | They now live somewhere else for good: married away, moved with their family, settled in another city or country. |
| Absent | Nobody can trace them. |
| Duplicate | They are also enrolled where they live. The duplicate is the entry where they don't live. |
| Refer to the ERO | Forged papers, an underage entry, or an identity you can't settle at the door. |
| Form 6 | A newcomer or new 18-year-old (born on or before 1 Oct 2008) who lives here and isn't enrolled elsewhere. |
Tips that win points
- Accept the chai. Families warm up. Pushy questions (marked ⚠) can end the conversation.
- Ask where every missing person is. "Haridwar" can mean a pilgrimage or a funeral; "Surat" can mean a job or a new life.
- Look around the room. A garlanded photo, a train ticket, a griha pravesh card, a birthday banner: clues open new questions.
- Pin facts. Two facts about the same person that disagree become a finding: a spoken age against an Aadhaar, an Aadhaar print against its QR.
- Use the app before you delete. The roll search finds duplicates, the 2003 search finds links (including in other states), and the panchayat register records deaths.
- Mind the dates. Born on 1 October 2008 is eligible; born on 3 October 2008 is not.
- Link carefully. Own 2003 entry first, then a parent's or grandparent's. Never an in-law's.
The real rules behind the game
The game follows the Election Commission's SIR 2026 guidance as published by state Chief Electoral Officers: BLOs visit each house at least three times with pre-printed Enumeration Forms; no document is needed with the form during enumeration; electors are linked to the last SIR roll through themselves or a parent or grandparent; electors whose forms don't come back are listed as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate; new electors use Form 6 and corrections use Form 8. Check your own state's CEO website or voters.eci.gov.in for real dates.
